OUR PROCESS

How EverClear builds a gunite pool

1

Design Consultation

Jason or a project manager visits your property to assess soil, grade, utilities, and setback requirements. You discuss shape, features, and budget.

2

Engineering and Permitting

Engineer-stamped structural drawings are produced. EverClear pulls all NJ building, electrical, and plumbing permits before construction begins.

3

Excavation Through Gunite Shoot

The yard is excavated, steel rebar is tied and inspected, plumbing is roughed in, and gunite is pneumatically applied to form the shell. The shell cures before finishing.

4

Finish, Fill, and Walkthrough

Tile, coping, plaster or aggregate finish, decking, fencing, and equipment are installed. The pool is filled, water chemistry is balanced, and you walk through everything with your project manager.

Common questions about vinyl liner pools

Gunite pools cost more than vinyl due to custom shaping, steel reinforcement, and longer build times. The total depends on pool size, shape, features, and finish materials. EverClear provides a free written estimate after the site consultation.

Most gunite pools take 3 to 6 months from design to completion. Cure time after the gunite shoot, weather delays, and permitting timelines are the main variables.

A properly built gunite shell can last 50 years or more. The interior finish (plaster, aggregate, or pebble) typically needs resurfacing every 10 to 15 years depending on water chemistry.
