The Jockey Hollow Visitor Center in Mendham is a great place to learn about the history of the area. What To Do
To start your hike, head out from the main Jockey Hollow Visitor Center, which follows the white Grand Loop Trail. Alternatively, you can start your hike at the Wick Cottage, which is located at the base of Jockey Hollow. After leaving the Visitor Center, you’ll follow a paved trail that leads up a bank on the left. After a while, you’ll find yourself on the white-blazedblazed Grand Loop Trail.

Established in 1975, the center serves as the hub of visitor contact in the Jockey Hollow Unit. Interactive displays, a gift shop, and a short introductory film help visitors learn about the park’s history. A reconstructed kitchen garden is a great way to connect with the history of the site.
Upon entering the Visitor Center, visitors can view an interactive tour of the museum’s main exhibits. The Soldier’s Hut, a 14-foot-square structure that would hold twelve men, is one such exhibit. Nearby, the Washington’s Headquarters Museum offers three exhibit rooms and a sales area. In addition, visitors can view a short video production called “Morristown, Where America Survived” and learn about the history of Morristown.
