Vinyl Pool Construction

Our Process

Once you have decided to proceed with your backyard investment and are looking for a vinyl pool construction, EverClear Pools & Spas will take care of the rest.

This is the start of a journey that will allow your family to enjoy their backyard swimming pool. Each phase is critical in ensuring that your pool is constructed to a high standard and will survive for decades. Following is our step-by-step process to installing a vinyl inground pool:

Permitting

A building permit is required for construction work at the job site. Permit approval requirements vary depending on the county or city where the pool will be built. As part of the pool purchase deal, EverClear Pools & Spas usually offers all necessary work to obtain permits.

Excavation

After the permit has been issued and the utilities indicated, the pool excavation can begin. This stage creates the most noticeable alteration in the backyard space since it establishes the foundation for the pool structure built later.

The pool bottom is sculpted to suit the exact proportions of the pool’s design, while excess dirt for backfill is added around the edge. One day is the average amount of time required.

Wall Installation

The pool component kit can be delivered to the site once the excavation and pool bottom preparation is finished and the wall construction can commence. A vinyl pool wall comprises galvanized steel panels that are bolted together, leveled, and braced to form the pool’s surrounding framework. One day is the average amount of time required for wall installation.

Plumbing

While the pool walls are being built, work is also being done to create the underground PVC plumbing required for circulation and filtration. An equipment pad is placed near the pool that contains the pool’s pump, filter, and electrical controls at a minimum. Other underground lines may be “roughed in” at this stage, depending on the pool’s features and accessories that you desire.

Pouring the Collar

The installers will order a concrete delivery to pour the wall collar after finishing the installation, which is usually the same day. The collar provides the pool’s structural support, which encases the wall and braces in a complete underground concrete ring. The shallow end of the pool bottom will be poured simultaneously as the collar, using the same 3000 psi concrete mix. Half-day is the average amount of time required.

Pouring the Bottom

After the collar, the focus shifts to the vinyl pool’s deep end or hopper. A layer of grout ready-mix is applied to the pool bottom, which is reinforced with wire mesh in essential spots. EverClear Pools & Spas perfected this pool bottom installation technology decades ago, and it provides the best strength and durability imaginable. Half-day is the average amount of time required.

Backfilling and Grading

Dirt is backfilled up to the pool’s wall structure once the pool wall, collar, and plumbing lines are in place. To work surplus dirt into the overall landscaping grade or to account for any changes in drainage in the yard, a rough grade will be done around the whole pool area.

Electrical Installation and Settling

The longest time of anticipation and waiting begins now that the pool structure has been built and backfilled. The backfill dirt is not severely compacted by machines to protect the integrity of the pool wall structure.

As a result, it’s essential to give the earth time to settle naturally, with the help of rain and watering, to provide a stable foundation for the pool decking that will be poured over it soon. EverClear Pools & Spas’ qualified electrician usually completes all electrical work and, if necessary, fence installation during this time. Three weeks is the average amount of time required.

Deck Forming

After enough settling time has passed, preparations for the pool deck begin. The responsibilities needed at this time might vary substantially depending on the deck and coping type and whether any rock work is involved.

Additional grading, the placement of concrete forms to shape the deck, the installation of rebar reinforcement and a bonding grid, and the order of deck gear such as a diving board, pool ladder, and railings are all standard. One day is the average amount of time required.

Deck Pouring

The concrete deck is then poured. While most decks are a natural gray concrete color with a brush-textured finish, they can be done in various colors and textures, which takes more time to install.

For proper water runoff, standard concrete decks will always involve the installation of PVC expansion joints as well as a deck drain. The time required on average for deck pouring is 1-2 days.

Liner Installation and Finishing

After the deck pouring, the construction project is already nearing completion. The pool bottom is cleaned and prepped thoroughly, and the custom-ordered vinyl liner is installed and fitted. After the pool has been filled with water, a few finishing accessories can be put in, and the job site can be cleaned up.

Finally, our staff meets with the homeowner to provide them with a thorough explanation of the pool’s systems and the expectations for future pool maintenance.

Crystal-Clear Time and Cost Evaluations

Now is the time everyone has been waiting for, time to swim. While most projects take 6 to 8 weeks to complete, severe weather can change the scope of the installation. EverClear Pools & Spas believes that an honest evaluation of the time required to achieve excellent work benefits our clients more than an exaggerated schedule provided solely to secure a sale.

Also, keep in mind that there is no wrong time of year to start your project. Give us the chance to create a perfect pool for your family, and watch us do the magic for you.
